To be considered for a scholarship, a student must meet all of the following requirements:
1. The Applicant must be a high school senior in good standing. Preference will be given to students who are attending a Lee County public or private high school and who reside on Sanibel or Captiva Island. A student living in Lee County whose parent(s), or close relative is employed full time on either island is considered eligible for a scholarship award
2. The Applicant must have at least a “B” average (or recognized equivalent) for grades nine through eleven.
3. The Applicant must be accepted to, and attend the University of Florida, or Florida Gulf Coast University to receive the Traucht or Angst scholarship
4. The Applicant must qualify for “need-based financial assistance” as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
5. The Applicant must be actively engaged in Community Service.
6. Applicants for the Jimmy Traucht Rotary Scholarship must agree to enroll in a Business Ethics course as determined by the University of Florida, and approved by the State of Florida.
