Under the leadership of our first President John Murray, the Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club was formed by a small group of transplanted Rotarians who moved to the Islands from a number of states around the country, and local islanders who wanted to be more active in community services. With the support and sponsorship of fellow Rotarians from Fort Myers Beach, the Rotary Club of Sanibel & Captiva Florida was chartered by Rotary International in March of 1980 and has proudly been serving our community for over 30 years.
